"Funny and touching to sweet, sexy and silly!" - The Village Voice Review

Was your first time awkward or “like Christmas morning!” (Story #19553) Were you with your high school sweetheart or with your psychology professor (Story #7779)? Were you in Washington Square Park (Story #5049) or a Burger King bathroom (Story #2995)? If you did it, you probably remember it. And now you can hear about everyone else’s!

My First Time, the longest running play to open off-broadway in years, features four actors in hysterical and heartbreaking stories about first sexual experiences written by real people . . .

just like you!

In 1998, a decade before blogging became popular, a website was created that allowed people to anonymously share their own true stories about their first times. The website became an instant phenomenon as over 40,000 stories poured in from around the globe that were silly, sweet, absurd, funny, heterosexual, homosexual, shy, sexy and everything in between.

And now, these true stories and all of the unique characters in them are brought to life by four amazing actors in the critically acclaimed 90 minute play, MY FIRST TIME, starring Colin Fitz (XFM presenter, Allo Allo) Julia Calvert (Two Gentlemen of Verona, Gasping), Alexandra Camilleri Warne (Rocky Horror Picture show, Snow White) and Joe Azzopardi (Allo, Allo, SinBad The Tailor).

The production is being staged at MITP in Valletta and is being directed by Wesley Ellul, director of shows like More Four Play and acclaimed hit musical Spring Awakening.

Performances will he held at MITP on October 31, November 1, 2, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21,and 22. Ticket prices for the opening weekend are €10 while all other shows are €15. Shows start at 8pm.

Alexandra Camilleri Warne
Alexandra Camilleri Warne - Alexandra has been acting since the age of 12 and has already played principal girl in no less than four pantos, the latest being that of Wendy in last year’s MADC panto-‘Peter Panto’. Her training at Stagecoach lead Alexandra to appear as Addaperle and Glinda in FM productions’ ‘The Wiz’. She took part in several MADC One Act Play Festivals where she was twice nominated for the ‘Best Actress Award’. She has also played leading lady Janet Weiss in ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ after which she took a break during her final year at university from where she graduated as a Doctor of Medicine and Surgery. She got back onto the scene with her first production with Mellow Drama-the successful ‘My First Time’. Her latest role was that of Priscilla in Death of a Doornail by MADC. Alexandra has also dabbled into TV playing Haley in ‘Dejjem Tieghek Becky’ and Rebekka in ‘Tghanniqa’ for which she was nominated for ‘Best Actress’ at the Malta TV Awards. She is currently working on One TV’s ‘Kwazi Ahwa’ where she plays the character of Jill.

Colin Fitz
Colin Fitz - Colin started his performing career at the Manoel Theatre in 1991 playing Sammy in The Dark at The Top of The Stairs by William Inge. Since 2002 he has made varied singing apperances in musicals, such as South Pacific, Cabaret, Kiss me Kate, and Into the Woods. He has also entertained the crowds with energetic performances in the pantomimes Robin Hood meets the Babes in the Wood (2001) in the title role, and as children’s favourite Buttons in Cindirella (2003). Joe Azzopardi
Joe Azzopardi -

Joe is relatively new to the Maltese acting scene but is widely regarded as one of the brightest upcoming talents – something that was verfied when he won MADC’s Best Young Actor award at the 2008 One Act Play Festival. Despite being a relative newcomer he has also had roles in Allo, Allo and SinBad the Tailor.

Julia Calvert
Julia Calvert -

Julia has always enjoyed acting and, from an early age showed signs of her future calling when locking her grandparents in a room and forcing them to watch her perform. She took this evident enthusiasm and fine tuned it in England where she studied theatre. Her roles on stage, both in the UK and Malta, have seen her tackle a huge variety of different types of theatre because, as she says, it’s always nice to try out different things. She proves this with her jump from the thespian stage with leading roles in Othello and Tempest to her dive into the more somber world of Six Character in Search of an Author and Medea. However, her love for comedy overrides all and she feels in her true element when on stage providing the audience with a good laugh. From Perfect Wedding to An Evening with Gary Lineker and from Kissing Sid James to The 39 Steps, Julia is most at home when bringing smiles to people’s faces.
